Linda Lashendock is the Video Archive Technologist in the Belk Library Archives. She came to Elon in February of 2003 as the Coordinator of Elon Television. Prior to her beloved Elon, she was a production manager with CNN in Washington DC. She has won several CNN awards, such as the Edward R. Murrow and Emmy awards. Linda holds an Associate of Art degree in Medical Assisting, a Bachelor of Science in Education/Art, and a Master of Art in Liberal Arts. She describes herself as a person who has transformed living her life from defining herself by her position at CNN to loving her work at Elon University and loving to learn. Personally, her creative passion in life is to live life to its fullest because her life is not a dress rehearsal. She adores her animals, especially her soft hair wheaten terrier, Chelsea. She also loves listening to music, painting, walking, and spending time with her partner, Dan. Linda grows spiritually from her St. Francis of Assisi readings and teachings. Linda describes herself as a person with a passionate positive energy who is honored and humbled to be sharing her story.

Linda reflects on battle against invasive ductal carcinoma cancer and how it strengthened her ability to adapt to new and difficult situations- becoming more resilient. When Linda was in college, she fell in love with television productive and video editing. This lead to a job at CNN, where she learned about the productive industry, traveled, and participated in history. From dangerous encounters on site for her job, several personal struggles and her battle against cancer, Linda has undergone her fair share of difficulties over the years. However, Linda has persevered and stayed determined to challenge herself and live a great life. This is her story on how to find strength and resilience in even the most challenging times.
